Dickie Scruggs, Hillary Fundraiser

The buzz around Trent Lott’s departure from the Senate had focused on his familial connections to now-indicted Mississippi lawyer Dickie Scruggs, Lott’s brother-in-law. However, the political connections go in an entirely different direction. Scruggs has had his latest fundraiser canceled — by Hillary Clinton (via Memeorandum):

A Dec. 15 fund-raising event for Hillary Clinton at the home of prominent Mississippi trial laywer Richard “Dickie” Scruggs is off, now that Scruggs has been indicted for bribery.

Bill Clinton was set to be the star attraction at the event at Scruggs’s Oxford, Miss., home. Hillary Clinton wasn’t scheduled to attend. It was the first event that Scruggs, who made a fortune suing the tobacco industry in the 1990s, had offered to host for Clinton, a campaign spokesman said. It was canceled on Wednesday, after the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided his home and the federal indictment was announced. …

Over the years, Scruggs has been a generous donor to Democrats, but he’s also given money to Republican candidates. He gave $4,200 to Clinton’s Senate campaign in 2005 but hadn’t made a donation yet to her presidential bid. Scruggs’s brother-in-law is Sen. Trent Lott (R., Miss.), who just announced his intention to leave the Senate before the end of the year.

Norman Hsu, the Fujian donor scandal, Peter Paul, and now Dickie Scruggs. It seems rather more like a pattern than a series of coincidences, doesn’t it?

Gay Gen. Kerr Interviewed by CNN in 2003 - today CNN pretends ingorance

Kerr, he was never an active duty Army General of any flavor. He retired from the Reserves in 1986 as a Col. and given an appointment to the California National Guard in 1991.

He never attended any sort of Military Academy instead receiving his educational credentials with questionable degrees from Berkley and San Francisco State.

To sum Mr Kerr up in the simplest terms, his entire career from the time he was a private, to this very day is that of a fraud, and a con artist.

Will his claim to the Special Forces Tab will now be investigated and will he will be unmasked for exactly what he is?

How That Streisand Endorsement Came About (Hint: Not Like Buttah!)

Barbara Streisand’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton a day after word came that Oprah Winfrey would stump for Barack Obama made for delicious timing, and The New York Post, for one, couldn’t resist slapping together a battle-of-the-divas “tale of the tape,” stacking up Babs’s “71 million albums sold” against Oprah’s “9 million viewers.”

But was the polarizing Ms. Streisand, an icon of Hollywood’s liberal left, really a wise choice as a comeback to a cultural phenomenon so popular and powerful she can singlehandedly anoint bestsellers? And for a candidate as polarizing as Mrs. Clinton?

As the dust settled Wednesday, Ms. Streisand’s people were insisting that the timing was entirely accidental, and acknowledging privately that the comparison wasn’t exactly welcome. But they insisted that Ms. Streisand’s endorsement was a mightier weapon in a Democratic primary than one might guess after scrolling through some of the more vicious rantings about her that surface in comment sections of blogs like this one.

The spotlight on the two entertainment icons was just the latest flurry of attention for Hollywood backers of presidential candidates. Though Mr. Obama made a splash by picking up the support of David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg of Dreamworks early this year, their partner, Steven Spielberg, and Peter Chernin of News Corp. came out for Mrs. Clinton soon after, scotching any notions that her Hollywood base was deserting her.

Since then Rob Reiner has added his name to Mrs. Clinton’s camp, while Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt have come out for John Edwards. And Chuck Norris, better known for infomercials than butt-kicking movies these days, has surfaced behind the Republican Mike Huckabee.

Hillary Star Wars 2008 Style

It had to happen. Barack Obama announces that Oprah Winfrey will campaign for him, only to be countered by Hillary Clinton informing the world that Barbra Streisand endorses her presidential campaign.

The 2008 presidential race is increasingly being dominated by celebrity advertising and endorsements, in lieu of serious exploration of the issues. Many in the political establishment are to blame for this depressing devolution of our political culture, however, the Clintons are the masters of this descent into inanity.

Hillary Clinton’s whole political persona is based on celebrity approbation, starting with her husband. Her election to the Senate in 2000 despite being a carpetbagger in New York only happened due to her husband being the current president, the ultimate form of celebrity endorsement. The continuing presence of Bill Clinton as a vital political star among Hillary’s celebrity troupe personifies the superficiality of her campaign.

We are now witnessing star wars between Hillary Clinton and her opponents, while the nation slides into economic chaos and geo-political uncertainty. This may be injurious to the national interest, but it’s a wonderful context for Hillary Rodham Clinton to campaign in. After all, why spoil Hillary’s attempt to “make history” with anything as mundane as substance and seriousness.

And Then There Were Six (Or Seven (Or Eight)) Planted Questions at CNN debate!

Wowzers.  With these 2 (or 3 or 4) newly unearthed debate plants, the tally (6-8, depending on your classification standards) now surpasses even the botanical biodiversity catalogued at CNN’s Democrat debate in Las Vegas.

Jim Vicevich alerts us to a few more Democratic plants at the CNN YouTube Republican candidates forum last night. Adam Florzak asked a question on Social Security. Jim comments: "Strange question, because he asked about paying back the social security trust fund? That’s a Republican question." It turns out that Florzak quit his job with Caterpillar to work with Dick Durbin on social security reform.  Then there was Mark Strauss, who pleaded with Ron Paul to run as an independent.  It turns out he’s a Richardson supporter (more here).  CNN must have know who Strauss is because he participated in the CNN/Youtube Democratic presidential debate this past July.  It’s all over now, baby blue.

Very strange: Their is more to the Gay Col. Kerr Debate Question - No such thing as California National Reserve that Kerr claimes he is member of!

Controversy erupted last night after Republican presidential candidates participating in the CNN/YouTube debate received a question from an undisclosed gay activist and supporter of Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Retired Brig. Gen. Keith H. Kerr told candidates he was an “openly gay man,” member of the “California National Reserve”, and asked “why you think that American men and women in uniform are not professional enough to serve with gays and lesbians?”

He did not mention that he is a member of the LGBT Americans For Hillary Steering Committee and a co-chair on Hillary Clinton’s National Military Veterans group.

Kerr was in the audience and host Anderson Cooper even asked him if he was satisfied with the answers. All of the candidates support the “don’t ask-don’t tell” policy and Kerr said he was not happy with their responses.

Former Education Secretary Bill Bennett learned of Kerr’s involvement with the Clinton campaign approximately 30 minutes after the debate, while serving on a CNN panel. He received emails from friends who made the connection.

Cooper, the debate and panel moderator, quickly responded, saying that had CNN known Kerr was involved with the Clinton campaign, they would have disclosed the information or not used the question at all.

But there’s more. According to Col. Bill Campenni (USAF, ret), one of President Bush’s squadron mates in the Texas Air National Guard, there is no such thing as the California National Reserve of which Kerr claimed to be a former member.

Campenni told HUMAN EVENTS that Kerr is not even a retired Army General.

“He retired as a California Army National Guard colonel,” said Campenni. “It is common at Guard retirement ceremonies to give an honorary promotion to colonels to the STATE rank of Brigadier General…[but] it has no meaning other than a fancy certificate for the wall and use of the title at local Guard functions.”

CNN Features Hillary Plant at GOP Debate

Retired Brig. Gen. Keth Kerr who was featured as a "spontaneous" questioner on CNN’s YouTube Republican Debate on Wednesday night is actually an operative in the Hillary Clinton campaign. On June 27, 2007, the Hillary for President organization announced the formation of "LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) Americans for Hillary" and listed the admittedly gay Gen. Kerr as a member of its Steering Committee.  That fact was not mentioned by Kerr, CNN, or the program’s host Anderson Cooper.

In his recorded YouTube message, Kerr challenged the GOP presidential contenders on the issue of the military’s "don’t ask/don’t tell" policy that has been in effect for nearly 15 years. He was also invited by CNN to attend the debate in person and was given several minutes of national television time to challenge the candidates’ defense of current policy. His “comments” turned out to be more like a filibuster but moderator Cooper did not interrupt.

Apparently, CNN’s bias toward the Clintons runs so deep that it will resort to some cheap, dirty tricks to try to derail the Republican campaign. Given the network’s history of consistent liberal bias, it is difficult to believe that the Kerr incident was a naïve mistake. It is more likely that it was another attempt to sandbag the Republicans – hopefully embarrassing them on the sensitive issue of gays in the military. It didn’t work. The general stated: “For 42 years, I wore the army uniform on active duty, in the Reserve, and also for the state of California. I revealed I was a gay man after I retired. Today, ‘don’t ask/don’t tell’ is destructive to our military policy.”

Video: Joe Scarborough: ‘Total Crap’ CNN Didn’t Know Kerr Was A Plant

Video: Clinton: Bush’s Tax Cuts Created Surge Of Illegals

What a joke of a man - truly pathetic!

Ian has the video here

CNN just can’t use Google: Video of when Bill Bennett tells Cooper that the Gay Colonel is a Hillary Clinton Stooge.

Complete Bullshit!

They had weeks to research this - and they claim they didn’t know. I’m hearing that CNN even flew him in for the debate - and he was the only one allowed a follow up question!

Prior to this info coming out - all you had to do was go to Google, type in his name and Hillary’s website come up - hit Ctrl F and type in "Kerr" and their he is - so simple the Clinton News Network couldn’t figure it out!

By the way - why does Hillary have a Lesbian - Gay - Bi-Sexual - Transgendered Steering Committee? What direction does Hillary want the country steered toward?
