For Hillary… NOW the Communist Chinese are a “Problem”

China is training increasing numbers of Latin American military personnel, taking advantage of a three-year old U.S. law that has led to a sharp decline in U.S.-run training programs for the region, an Army general said Tuesday.

Gen. Bantz Craddock, who oversees U.S. military operations in Latin America, said military members of all ranks are receiving training in China, In addition, he said, more and more Chinese non-lethal military equipment is showing up in the region…It’s a growing phenomenon."

Craddock testified before a Senate Armed Service Committee hearing where lawmakers from both parties called for the elimination of the law that authorizes U.S. training programs only under certain conditions - requirements that some countries refuse to accept.

The measure has given the Chinese military an opening in Latin America for the first time.

Committee Chairman John Warner expressed concern over the Chinese activities as did Sen. Carl Levin, the ranking Democrat on the panel. Sen. John McCain suggested that repeal of the amendment should be included in an emergency supplemental legislation now being considered.

Said Sen. Hillary Clinton, "I think this is one of the most serious problems we face," alluding to the Chinese actions. The committee has a duty to "sound the alarm," she added.

At issue is a U.S. law that mandates an end to military training in countries that refuse to exempt U.S. citizens overseas from the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court.

Could this be Hillary’s Senate bid “Ross Perot”?

By bringing in another "conservative candidate" Hillary can possibly keep Spenser busy while McFarland attacks him. "Very Macavillian"

In an interview today, Republican Senate candidate John Spencer told The Politicker he thinks Hillary Clinton put KT McFarland up to challenging him for his party’s nomination.

"The Clintons are pretty slick. They’ll never have any fingerprints on it, but it sure looks that way," he said. "The only beneficiary of this is Mrs. Clinton."

He said he didn’t have any clear evidence of the plot, but that he found McFarland’s sudden entrance amid a burst of media coverage "mystifying."

As for McFarland herself, "I don’t think she has any credentials, quite frankly."

"She gets all this press coverage, which I find mystifying," he said, pointing to her Hardball appearance yesterday and Good Morning America today, not to mention an A1 slot in the Times.

Hillary Clinton reins in husband’s talk

NEW YORK, March 21 (UPI) — U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., has reined in her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to avoid more embarrassments in her upward-looking career.

With the senator’s ambition to run for president well known, sources told the New York Daily News she wants to avoid another conflict like their recent competing roles in the Dubai ports deal.

While she was blasting the Bush administration for allowing Dubai to run six of the country’s seaports, her husband was advising Dubai on how to sell the deal.

An adviser to both Clintons said the former president has acceded to his wife’s wishes.

"He knows it’s Hillary’s time now," the adviser said.

Hillary Clinton to Bush: Send Military to Darfur

2008 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, who says she was misled into voting for military intervention in Iraq, now wants the U.S. Air Force to lead an international coalition to stop the genocide in Darfur.

Mrs. Clinton, whose husband did nothing to stop the 1994 Rwandan genocide, sent a letter to Bush on Thursday where she urges:

"The United States can and must do more." Clinton then adds helpfully: "Below are 13 ways in which you can take action."

Clinton Kept Hotel Rwanda Open

Clinton’s buck-passing covered up the hideous truth that he knew about the genocide from the start, and could have done something about it.

The documents are smoking gun proof that Clinton knew from the moment that Hutu thugs hacked to death the first innocents that the slaughter was in full swing. Barely two weeks after the carnage started, Clinton officials privately called the killings genocide. Yet, Clinton, Gore, and Secretary of State Madeline Albright would not publicly use the word. A chilling eyes-only Defense Department memorandum advised Clinton administration officials that if they used the word genocide to describe the carnage it would compel the government "to do something." They followed the script to the letter.

It took more than a month before the word "genocide" on the killings seeped into the Clinton administration’s vocabulary. But administration officials watered it down by blandly calling it "acts of genocide."

Even after the UN shook off its see-no-evil slumber, and authorized troops to intervene, Clinton tried to stonewall the deployment of forces, drug his feet on providing funds for the deployment, and reneged on the U.S.’s promise to provide military vehicles to transport troops and refugees from the killing fields. In 2000, Foreign Affairs Magazine assessed the UN and the U.S.’s Ostrich act on Rwanda. It concluded that prompt action could have saved more than 100,000 lives. The intervention would not have required one American soldier, or lengthy debate in Congress. It could have been accomplished for the relative paltry sum of $15 million.

But that isn’t the final chapter in the shame and hypocrisy of the Clinton

Hillary’s E-Mail Avoids Iraq - To Fool Supporters

In the March 27 issue of The Nation, Ari Berman writes of top Democratic consultants’ strategy to either completely avoid discussing Iraq or support the war while criticizing George Bush’s handling of it.

As if to prove Berman’s point, two days ago Hillary Clinton sent a fundraising e-mail on behalf of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) under the bold subject heading, "Changing the Senate."

Clinton opens with the pronouncement, "You and I both know America needs a change of direction — and the American people know it too."

Yes, it’s true that the American people know it. And, as Berman points out, "Asked what should be the highest priority for America this year, the largest number of respondents in the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll chose bringing most of the troops home."

But in her 672-word e-mail (hint to Dems: your e-mails are too long) calling for "change," how many times did Senator Clinton mention Iraq? You guessed it — not a mention.

Susan Sarandon (aka: Cindy Sheehan) unhappy with centrist Hillary

The ladies of the left may not agree with one another these days.
Susan Sarandon, longtime liberal maven and in talks to play peace activist Cindy Sheehan in a film, is irked by another liberal maven: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. The Hollywood actress doesn’t think the New York Democrat lives up to her expectations.
"I find Hillary Clinton to be a great disappointment," Miss Sarandon told More magazine, for publication today.
"She seems to be a very bright woman. I’ve met her. But she’s lost her progressive following because of her caution and centrist approach. It bothers me when she voted for the war," Miss Sarandon said.
Indeed, Mrs. Clinton voted in 2002 to authorize the Iraq war and is a member of the Senate Armed Forces Committee. The former first lady defended her vote in November, calling upon the U.S. to "finish what it started." At times, Mrs. Clinton has categorized abortion as "tragic" and took a hard line against illegal immigration — all episodes in her ideological progress from far left to center, a transformation many political observers say is an effort to appear more presidential by 2008.
"We thought of her with Barbra Streisand, Barbara Boxer, Rob Reiner, Charles Schumer, even. Now I see her on a drift to the center," MSNBC’s Chris Matthews noted last year.

New Yorkers are suckers! AKA: Senator Clinton Votes To Drain New York Pockets

During consideration of the Senate Budget, Senator Clinton voted for a series of amendments to raise taxes by $20 billion. Since New York pays 8% of federal taxes, Senator Clinton’s tax increases would drain $1.6 billion out of New York – sending the money to Washington. Based on the fact New York only gets back 80% of the money paid in taxes in appropriations, a $1.6 billion tax increase on New Yorkers will result in $1.28 billion in appropriations for New York – increasing our deficit with Washington.

As Senator Moynihan explained, "Anything that grows the size of the Federal government will grow the deficit of New York and other such [high-income] states."

Former Yonkers Mayor John Spencer noted, "Senator Clinton is costing New York. Today with Senator Clinton, we only get back 80 cents on every dollar we pay in taxes. Before she was elected, we got back 87 cents. Senator Clinton may be effectively promoting her personal ambition, but she’s ineffective for New York."

Hillary’s Goal: Allow Fellons to Vote = Liberal Votes.

You knew they’d be back, didn’t you?

I knew it. I knew it before they knew it.

"They" are the folks for whom restoring voting rights to felons has become not only a passion, not just a mission, but darn near a mania. Three years ago, they persuaded like-minded state legislators to pass a bill that would restore voting rights to felons three years after leaving prison. But that wasn’t good enough.

So they’re back again this year, proposing another bill that would restore voting rights to felons as soon as they leave prison. Why don’t these folks - members and nonmembers of the legislature - just cut to the chase?

Propose a bill now that seeks what they really want: for felons to be allowed to vote while they’re still in prison. Then they can move on to their ultimate goal: a bill that would end incarceration as a punishment.

Media still avoiding the Clinton - Pellicano link!

The media is all over this case because of all the Hollywood Stars caught up in this story - but they refuse to report that Bill and Hillary Clinton used this man to intimidate their political enemies! Talk about Media Bias!

The web of lies, betrayal and blackmail threats allegedly spun by Anthony Pellicano, the former Hollywood private detective now facing trial for conspiracy and illegal wire-tapping, is widening all the time. It now appears that Nicole Kidman was among those caught in its threads.

The Kidman twist is the latest in a story that has been the obsession of Hollywood since the start of the year. Ms Kidman, the Australian film star, has reportedly joined the ever-lengthening list of industry figures to have been interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the Pellicano case.

In the January 1992 issue of GQ magazine, Pellicano boasted of the dirty work he had performed for his clients, including blackmail and physical assault. He claimed to have beaten one of his client’s enemies with a baseball bat. "I’m an expert with a knife," said Pellicano. "I can shred your face with a knife."

What are the Clinton’s doing hiring a guy who was caught with: gold, jewelry, and about $200,000 in cash - most of it bundled in $10,000 wrappers - thousands of pages of transcripts of illegal wiretaps; two handguns; and various explosive devices stored in safes, including two live hand grenades and a pile of C4 plastic explosive, complete with blasting cap and detonation cord.

C4 is a military explosive that cannot be sold legally to civilians. Pellicano had a surprisingly large quantity in his safe. "The explosive could easily be used to blow up a car, and was in fact strong enough to bring down an airplane," noted Special Agent Stanley Ornellas in a sworn affidavit.
