Don’t let them change the subject

Dear Friend,

Every day, as Hillary fights for what is right for you and me, her opponents pursue their negative attacks in order to distract voters from the real issues.

We know that Hillary is committed to addressing the real issues that impact the lives of New Yorkers and ordinary Americans across the nation. And since the facts about what is happening are so clear, Republicans will do everything they possibly can to change the subject.

They don’t want to talk about the soaring costs of health care, while Republicans let some big drug companies dictate their over-complicated, over-expensive prescription drug bill.

They don’t want to talk about Republican energy policies that have left us more dependent on imported oil than ever.

They don’t want to talk about their determination to drive to privatize Social Security - even including in this year’s Bush budget.

And they don’t want to talk about how they could have doubled inspections of containers at ports and airports by reducing $80,000 tax cuts for millionaires by just $5,000, each as Hillary advocated.

We cannot let the agenda for Hillary’s campaign for re-election be dominated by negative attacks from the Karl Rove playbook.

To make sure that doesn’t happen, we must have the resources to respond. That’s why we have set our most aggressive goal ever for this first quarter fundraising deadline.

We are close but need to raise $100,000 by March 31 to hit it.
